General Information After a repossession, you are required to give your customer notice in writing of your intent to sell the vehicle. In the past this was sometimes referred to as the "10 day letter", although the law no longer requires a 10 day waiting period. It is still a good idea to wait 10 days since you must give your customer sufficient time to receive the letter. We have provided you with a sample letter to send to your repossessed customers in the Print Letters and Labels section of this program. Helpful Hint The description of the "10 day letter" in the system is the Notice of Plan to Sell Property. How Do I Get There?
