This icon was installed on your desktop during the initial installation of the software system. Completing a backup is as easy as inserting a diskette, clicking on the icon, and the software directs you through the steps. The backup program condenses all of your data so it takes up the least amount of space, and moves all your data into one file (called 1.bkp). This file can be placed wherever you want. It is important to back up the information in your computer every day. Doing a daily backup will copy all of your data files from your computer onto a diskette. You should use a different diskette for each day of the week. Label one diskette MONDAY and use it to backup every Monday. Label another diskette TUESDAY and use it every Tuesday, and so on. This method ensures that you always have recent data in the event that one of the back up diskettes does not work. Start off using a new set of blank diskettes, and then replace these diskettes once a year or so.
