After you have modified and checked your initial printer settings in the Okidata 320, you are ready to begin printing. If you have not already checked your initial settings, click here: Set-Up Okidata 320.
The following steps are steps you will need to do each time you print a single sheet form, such as a bill of sale, title application or payment contract. If you are printing a form that is designed to print on plain white paper you will NOT need to follow the listed steps. Forms that are designed to print on plain white paper can be printed on the continuous feed paper that you load through the back of the printer or on any windows printer such as a laser printer.
If you have a Non Turbo model of the Okidata 320, click here for information on lining up your forms.
If you have white paper loaded from the rear of the printer, you can "park" this paper (move it out of the way) before you begin printing your form.
There is a gray lever on the right side of the Okidata 320 printers that control whether the paper is feeding from the Rear or Top.
How Do I Get There?
All of these steps will be performed on the Okidata printer
Step By Step
1.
If you already have continuous paper loaded in the printer ready to print reports you will need to move this paper out of the way while you print your forms. When printing reports on continuous white paper the paper lever on the right side of the printer will be pulled all the way toward you in the REAR feed position. To move this paper out of the way while you print your forms press the PARK button.
2.
Move the paper lever on the right side of the printer to the center TOP position. Make sure the SEL light is turned off. If it is still on press the SEL button again to turn it off. Move the left paper guide as far to the right as it will go. Then slide your form down the left side, making sure that the form is tight against the paper guide. When you have pushed your form down far enough the printer will grab it and pull the form into the printer in the proper position. If you notice that the paper is not in completely straight then you may want to start over by pressing the FF/LOAD button. The paper should load so it is just barely visible, appearing just above the red line on the glass paper holder next to the form. If it loads too high, then be sure that you have done steps 11, 12 & 13 on this link: Okidata Set Up. Press the SEL button to make the SEL light come on.
3.
Make room for multi-part forms. If your form is more than two parts you will need to move the blue "head gap" lever found on the left side of the printer ribbon towards you. This will create more room for the contract to move through the printer. Click on the Print Highlighted Form button to begin printing your form. If you want to print another form then go back to step 2 and repeat.
4.
To reload your white paper to print reports and forms designed for white paper move the paper lever on the right side of the printer back towards you into the REAR position. If the character pitch light starts to blink, press the SEL button once to get it to stop blinking. Then press the FF/LOAD button to load the paper.Press the SEL button to bring your printer back "online" and ready to print reports.
