General Information

Defaults - A lot of the information that is captured on the Sales Options Screens are defaults that are used on the Sales Processing Screen.  A default is a value that you enter in the system and once it is entered, it will always appear on the screen.  Defaults increase data accuracy and speed up data entry.  All defaults that are entered on these screens can be overridden when actually completing a sale.  The following default is included on the Sales Options 2 Screen:

Default Type of Sale

Buy-Here Pay-Here - There are three options for earning interest on buy here pay here deals.  They are:

Pre Compute - Rule of 78s
Pre Compute - Straight Line
Simple Interest

Select the option that will be used the most frequently as the default.  It is also possible to display what method is used for a buy here pay here deal by clicking on the check box Display "How Interest Earned" on Sales Screen.  If this is displayed, the method can always be changed at the time of the sale transaction.

Source of Customer - There is a setting that can require a source of customer to be entered or the sale can not be saved in the system.  If this option is selected, a message will display indicating that a source must be entered if the user tries to save a sale without a source.

Complaint Area on Buyer's Guide - This section should contain the name of the person at the dealership who is to be contacted for any customer complaints.  This section will contain the words "Add Name Here M-1-2" when you receive the software.  This can be deleted and the contact name should be entered in this space.

February Payments - If a lien holder requires that there are 30 days between payments, including the month of February, a setting exists to make this change.  Selecting this option ensures that no additional interest is charged and that the payments remain the same.

Add On Method for Calculating Interest - Enable this setting to have the option to use the Add On Method for calculating interest on their sales.
