Setting Up System Security And Passwords

Top  Previous  Next

General Information

There are three methods for assigning security and passwords to the users of the FRAZER system.  It is your decision which type of security is needed for your business. The following are available:

1.System level passwords can be created. This is the simplest method with one password used just to run the FRAZER Software, and with a second password used to perform some tasks.  If you do not know the first password you can't run the program and if you don't know the second password then there are certain functions that you will not be allowed to do.  Click here for more information, Setting Up System Passwords.
2.Individual users can be assigned passwords and I.D.'s. This method requires that both user I.D.'s and passwords are created.  With this method, passwords are tied to individual user id's.  A user will be prompted for both their I.D. and password when they log in to the FRAZER system.  The I.D. and password combination will determine what transactions they can perform in the system.  Click here for more information, Setting Up Individual Passwords.
3.No passwords required. With this method, anyone with access to a computer with the FRAZER system can enter the software and perform any transaction.

Helpful Hints

If the system is set up for individual I.D.'s and passwords and a user tries to perform a transaction that they do not have permission to do, an "Access Denied" message will display when they attempt that transaction.

None of the settings in the FRAZER system need to be modified if you choose not to use passwords.

How Do I Get There?
