Once you have completed Part II of the Quickbooks Interface setup, you are ready to proceed with the final steps.
Step 1: Create a transfer file from Frazer.
To do this you will run program A - 5 (Accounting on the main menu, then 5 - Transfer Data to QuickBooks.)
1.
Select the date range of accounts that you want to transfer. For example you may want to transfer all accounting entries from yesterday, or last week, or last month.
2.
Be sure the Skip previously exported transactions box is checked unless you know that you created the transfer file once before but never imported it into QuickBooks (see Step 2 below). It's possible that you may create a transfer file but decide that you want to change something before you import it into QuickBooks. Since Frazer will think that all the transactions have already been exported you must uncheck this box so that they will be exported again.
3.
Frazer automatically creates G/L transactions for everything that you do within the Frazer system. You can choose not to export these transactions by unchecking the box that says Transfer transactions that were automatically generated by Frazer.
4.
You also have the option to post your own General Ledger transactions manually within Frazer. You can choose not to export these transactions by unchecking the box that says Transfer transactions that were manually posted using the Post to G/L program.
5.
Click on Create QuickBooks Transfer File and that's it!
Step 2: Import the transfer file into QuickBooks.
1.
Backup QuickBooks (File > Backup) so that you can go back to your old data if the first import isn't what you expect.
2.
In QuickBooks, Click File, Import, IIF Files...
3.
You will then need to Browse to the FrazerImport.IIF file located in the Frazer30 folder (or wherever the Frazer program is located).
4.
Once you select the FrazerImport file, then your transfer will start, and end only a few seconds later.
5.
That's it - all your accounting data from Frazer will now be in your QuickBooks program.
