General Information

Defaults - Some of the information included on the Vehicle Options Screen are defaults.  A default is a value that you enter in the system and once it is entered, it will always appear on the screen.  Defaults increase data accuracy and speed up data entry.  All defaults that are entered on this screen can be overridden when actually entering a vehicle.  The following are all defaults that are included on the Vehicle Options Screen:

Default fee when adding vehicles
Default "Vehicles to Display" on the vehicle look-up window
Default Labor Rate

Stock Numbers - The FRAZER system can automatically assign a stock number when a new vehicle is entered.  An initial stock number is entered in the Vehicle Options Screen, and it will automatically increase after each new vehicle entry.  This number can be a combination of alpha numeric characters.  Each time a new vehicle is entered the assigned stock number will increase to the next consecutive number or letter.  Some examples would include:

If 10000 is entered to be the first assigned stock number, the next one assigned will be 10001
If ABC is entered to be the first assigned stock number, the next one assigned will be ABD
If 123B9 is entered to be the first assigned stock number, the next one assigned will be 123C0

This default number in the Vehicle Options Screen can be changed at any time.  So, for example, you could start at A0000 one year, then change to B0000 the next year.  The default stock number can also be overridden on the Vehicles Options Screen if needed.  Or, stock numbers can always be manually keyed instead of using the built-in program.

Added Costs Options - The system provides settings that determine if additional costs, such as repair costs,  should be added to the cost of the vehicle after the vehicle is sold.  There is also a setting which determines if any additional cost should include or not include the portion that is billed to the customer.  If repair tickets are used, there is a setting in the FRAZER system to always prompt for the repair ticket number when entering a repair.

Odometer Setting - There is a check box to designate if the odometer readings are in kilometers or miles.

Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) - The system always indicates whether the VIN that is keyed in is valid.  A message will be displayed when an invalid VIN was entered.  There is a setting which can be changed to allow vehicles to be saved with an invalid VIN.  This option would be necessary if you sell trailers.
