When you contract a BHPH customer, it can make you nervous seeing them drive off in your car, not knowing if they will be coming back. Sometimes customers just lose track of time and their payment is due before they know it. Help out your customers, and yourself, by printing them a set of payment coupons. This can help customers stay organized and easily track their next due date. It’s a win for everybody.
It’s easy to keep track of late customers with Frazer. Not only does their balance display in red in your Customer Look-Up screen, but you can run a report that will give you the balance due of your late customers at any time. You can even use this report to find overdue bankrupt customers, repossessed customers, and customers with starter-interrupt devices. Tracking down late payments is easier than ever.
You can find a report that tracks all the changes you have made to your data, such as cancelling a sale. This is called the Audit Trail. You can look at this report for one customer, or for the whole system. If you are looking to see what kinds of changes have been made to your customer, or your data, you may search by specific keywords and by date range. You can also see which password-protected user has performed such changes. It can be very useful to know what’s happening on your computer, especially when you’re not there.
If you have miscellaneous notes that you would like to keep track of, you can enter them into your customers’ “Tracking Stuff” button. You can separate these notes by dates, and by different categories. Then, when you want to pull a list of all these items, you can view the “Reports on Tracking” from your reports list, and narrow these items down by date and category.

When you put a new vehicle out on the lot, Uncle Sam says you’ll need that Buyer’s Guide visibly displayed! You can print the Buyer’s Guide right from the vehicle screen in Frazer, so as soon as you enter the vehicle information, print the Guide and you’re ready to sell that vehicle! You don’t even need to buy the form (though you can print on the purchased form, if you really want). Instead, just print the Guide on plain old paper, in English or Spanish, and get ready for those offers to roll in!
Good paying customers often request that you report them to the credit bureau, to help improve their credit score. If you would like to report your customers to the credit bureau, the process in Frazer is quick and painless. The credit status code for each customer is automatically assigned based on their account activity. You must have an account with a credit bureau, who will give you a program ID. Just enter that ID into Frazer’s credit reporting screen, and click “Go”! Take the file that Frazer creates and send it out, and you are finished!
If you’re the type of person who skips past the instruction manual and just starts tinkering, hold it right there! You don’t have to read through the whole boring manual to find the information you are looking for. Frazer’s help manual is searchable, so just plug in the keywords you are looking for, and you will find only the information you need.

If you are a buy-here-pay-here dealer, you may be interested in using GPS tracking devices when selling your vehicles. A starter-interrupt device can also come in handy around collection time. You can easily keep track of GPS serial numbers in the vehicle file. You also have the ability to control a PassTime device right through the Frazer software, with an option to print the next PassTime code right on the customer’s receipt. Collections shouldn’t be any harder than they already are, so make your life a little easier by having more control over your vehicles.
If you are having trouble accessing the Alabama ETAPS site, it’s because they have moved to a new location. Run an update for your Frazer software, and you will be able to access the new updated link. You do not have to do anything different, but continue to use the ETAPS “form” provided in Frazer. So make sure you are running the latest version!
Frazer has fully-functioning accounting features for all your financial needs! However, if you’re a Quickbooks pro, and would like to use Quickbooks in tandem with Frazer, you can easily export your general ledger data from Frazer into Quickbooks, and continue your accounting in the program you are most comfortable with. Every change you make, every item you post, every check you write in Frazer will be sent to Quickbooks with the click of a button (but hey, who needs Quickbooks when you’ve got Frazer?).
Have you ever wished that you could print only certain vehicles or customers in your reports? Would you like to keep your main lot separate from your secondary lot? Or your own inventory and customer lists separate from your partner’s? When you add a location code to a vehicle, you can choose to include or exclude vehicle groupings with certain codes when you print your reports. Assign location codes for any reason you would want to group your vehicles together, or keep them apart.
If you or one of your lenders are more comfortable reviewing your data in Excel, Frazer has the option to export information to a spreadsheet for easy viewing and organization. You can pick and choose which information you would like to export, relating to customer information, sale figures, or vehicle features. Create your custom file, and do with it whatever you like.
You may not be aware, but there are multiple ways to calculate interest on a finance contract. Different lenders often prefer different methods. Luckily, Frazer can accommodate all your different interest calculation methods your lender, or you yourself, may wish to use. Set your deal up to calculate interest based on the Rule of 78’s, the Actuarial method, or the Straight Line method, as well as Simple interest. You won’t get backed into a corner with a variety of choices.
Have you ever wanted a list of all your vendors, with their contact info? Or how about a list of all the checks you have written to a certain vendor? Invoices you have filled out? Repairs billed? With an update to the latest version of Frazer, this information is easily accessible with buttons to print out the information in your vendor file. We’ll help you get organized any way we can!
Your customer has won the lottery, and decided to suddenly pay their car off all at once. Good for them! However, now you’ll have to take the interest they were expected to earn in the future out of their balance before they pay it off, if it was calculated ahead of time. You don’t have to remove any late fees, repair bills, or any other fees that they had accumulated so far. If you click on the “early payoff” button in Frazer’s Customer Activity, we will tell you exactly how much that customer owes if they are paying off their contract today.
When you put work into a car, you’ll want to keep track of the cost of your parts and labor. Adding repair costs to a vehicle can help you keep a realistic record of what your inventory is costing you. You can also track repair bills on customers who have purchased vehicles from you, and have come back to your service department. Add your costs to the vehicle, and the amount you are billing to the customer, and their account will be updated to include a repairs balance in addition to their contract balance.
No longer will you need to hand-type your craigslist ads or use other subscription services to do your posting. Update to the latest version of Frazer, and we can generate a Craigslist advertisement for any vehicle, that you can copy and paste into a craigslist post easily. Create as many or as few Craigslist ads as you wish to. Try the new button in your vehicle inventory screen, on the sales tab, and even preview it before you post!

Our dealers in Alabama and Georgia now have the option to process automatic payments through our partner, Frontstream. Process credit card payments, and generate a batch of automatic payments based on the due date. We’ve had some early success, and are looking for more pioneering dealers interested in taking the hassle out of taking payments. Update to the latest version of Frazer to get started.
Our dealers in Georgia now have the option to process automatic payments through our partner, Frontstream (we will be releasing this option for the rest of our dealers once the brave Georgians have tested it). You will be able to process credit card payments, and automatically debit your customer’s bank accounts without having to enter each payment individually in Frazer. Frontstream is fully PCI-compliant, so you don’t need to worry about the security of your customer’s financial information. Georgia dealers: if you want to take the headache out of taking payments, consider trying Frontstream payments!

How do you decide which cars to stock in your inventory? Maybe you are attracted to your favorite color, or you search for your dream car, or maybe you just close your eyes and point. Luckily, there is a better system out there for figuring out which types of cars are actually earning you the most money. Evaluate the profitability of your inventory by vehicle make, model, year, type, source, and cost. See averages for each category for days on lot, costs, selling price, and projected profit. Now you know exactly what to look for!
Floor planning, curtailments, fees, due dates- what a lot to keep track of! When you floor plan your inventory in Frazer, the Floor Planning tab makes it easy to track all of these things in one place. Set up the fees and interest for each floor plan company. Log your curtailment payments right into the vehicle file. Frazer will calculate the interest and fees for each curtailment based on your payment date. When you are ready to pay off the rest, just “close” the floor plan and the vehicle will be considered paid for. We also have easy reports for you to run on open and closed floor plans, to make tracking your vehicles simpler. Could it get any easier?
Did you know that when you take a trade-in vehicle during a sale, Frazer will automatically add that car to your inventory? You don’t even need to manually stock in this car. You filled out the trade-in information during the sale, why should you have to do it again, right? Just check the box to add the trade-in to your inventory, complete the sale, and bam! It’s all done for you.

How much interest will be paid in each installment? What about the principal? What date will the contract be paid in full? And how can you check all these things, before you even complete a sale? The Amortization Schedule will give you an estimate of these figures with each payment, for the life of the contract, and you can look this up as soon as you start plugging in numbers. You can re-check this estimation at any time during repayment, and print it out for that curious customer so they can track their own schedule.
Are you typing the same letter over and over again? Do you wish you could create and send personalized forms in large batches? And not have to hand-address each and every envelope? You don’t just buy and sell vehicles without fixing them up a little first, right? What are these repairs costing you? When you look at your inventory cost, you want to make sure you factor these in. Keep track of every bill added to your vehicles, along with your labor and parts costs, and the amount (if any) billed to your customers. This way, you will know exactly how much money you have invested into any particular car, at any time.

When selling a car, you want to make sure that you are actually making a profit, or what’s the point? The sales recap sheet is viewable before the sale is completed, so you can anticipate what you are going to make on the sale you are working on, as well as after the sale is done. This sheet details your revenue vs your cost to equal your profit. You can analyze your original cash position on the deal vs your current cash position, while payments are being made. Never be in the dark about where you stand on a sale!

Since our last post on the subject, we’ve added quite a few more options for places you can upload your inventory to. Never tried to upload your inventory to the web? Check out all the possibilities! With the click of a button, your Frazer inventory, pictures, and prices could be hosted on any number of sites, to be easily viewed by a whole new market of customers. Get that inventory to work for you!
Where can you find info on a deleted payment? On a cancelled sale? Maybe you need to know if customers’ due dates have been changed. Or any changes made to a particular customer or stock number. Check the audit trail! You can even see under whose username these changes were made. Use different filters to find exactly the information that you’re looking for.
You might have never noticed the “print” button at the top of each customer activity screen. If you or your customer would like a quick breakdown of what they owe, when, and why, this is the printout you have been looking for. Print out your customer’s information, balances, fees, payment schedule, and amount already paid. What a great snapshot of where your customer stands in the term of their contract.

If you are looking for an alternative to Carfax, the updated Frazer system now has an option to pull a vehicle history report from AutoCheck. This new button is located right next to the Carfax button on your vehicle inventory screen. Sign up with AutoCheck, and your customers will be able to see if their potential dream vehicle has had problems with the title, odometer, or anything else. Many customers like to feel they are making an informed decision. They will also be able to see the AutoCheck Score for that vehicle, and compare it to other vehicles in its class.
Do you find it hard to keep track of late fees? Calculate late fees automatically every day, every week, or whenever you need to. You can specify a grace period for your customers, overall or on an individual basis. You can also customize your late fees to each customer, if needed. Charge late fees without having to do any calculations, on a percent of the balance, a percent of the amount due, or a flat fee.
For those using Frazer for accounting (or for those who wish you were), print your financial statements right out of Frazer! You can print your balance sheet for the day, or for any day in the past if you need to catch up. You can also print your income statement for the current year, or any previous year.
Did you know you can print all your forms right out of Frazer? Whether they are pre-printed or plain paper, we can add any forms you need, including custom forms that you created! You can also customize your forms list to hide unwanted forms, reorder your forms, set a batch of forms to print all at once, and make certain forms appear only when specific conditions are met. 2011 will be the year of many new accounting features. The first we have rolled out is a handy search tool where you can type in any amount, and Frazer will search your General Ledger to see if that amount has already been posted somewhere, so you don’t double-post or forget to add anything. You can widen or narrow your search by date and by amount, in case you are unsure exactly what you are looking for. Frazer will show the entire transaction, so you can see where your money is going and why.
New to Frazer, and want to get up and running quickly? Or maybe you have taken over customers from another dealership, and need to enter them into your system. Add Pre-Existing (or Purchased) Customers with only their original sale info, and their current balance, and we’ll take it from there. We’ll start calculating the customer’s interest and payments wherever you left off in your last tracking method. Why remake the wheel by entering everything twice? From this point on, we’ve got you covered.
We all know the economy isn’t what it was in the 90s. Occasionally customers fall on hard times. It doesn’t help for them to fall further and further into the red while they try to catch up. The updated Frazer system now has the option to keep your data safe by making a daily backup. You can be confident that your data is safe and secure, should you need to retrieve it for any reason. The updated Frazer program includes the new Risk-Based Pricing notice. For those of you wanting to pull credit scores, read on! You would give this notice to your customer (before they sign their contract) if the APR you are offering them is not the best possible rate you offer, based on the customer’s credit score. This is different from the Credit Score Disclosure (aka Exception Notice), that is generally provided with the credit report. This notice is necessary only if you are basing the APR at least partly on credit scores.
The updated Frazer program now conforms to the latest requirement by the Federal government regarding privacy notices. You have to send this new form to all of your customers once a year, regardless of whether or not you share customer information with financial companies/affiliates (including related finance companies) for marketing or other purposes. We make it easy for you to print with one click!

We know that the customer’s bill of sale isn’t the only piece of paper that can make a difference to your business. After they walk out the door, you want to keep in contact with your customers. Some buy here pay here dealers will ask: why should I pull a credit report? When you sell an in-house financed deal, you are adding that piece to your existing portfolio as a whole. You are the one taking the risk. So ask yourself- would you jump out of a plane with a parachute you hadn’t checked out? When Kenneth Shilson, CPA and President of Subprime Analytics, spoke at the 2007 NIADA Convention, he stressed the importance of pulling credit reports because they help you anticipate bankruptcies and identify key credit history changes. Here’s the simple truth- no one likes data entry! You’d always rather spend less time typing at a computer than on the lot selling cars, right? You can get your vehicle entry done faster with our VIN decoder. Since 1981, there has been a standardized 17 character VIN in use. This VIN contains basic information about the vehicle to which it is assigned. When you enter a valid vehicle VIN in Frazer, our VIN decoder populates a majority of the basic vehicle information, including: year, make, model, style, body type, transmission, engine, cylinders, drivetrain, fuel type, and vehicle type. It also populates all of the vehicle features that were available to the vehicle at the time it was manufactured, which you can print on a window information sheet. Think of that- enter the VIN and pricing, and you’re already printing the window sheet! It’s just another feature of Frazer that makes your job easier.

Frazer comes with the option to print payment coupons for your customers. In Frazer, click on Sales, 2 – Print Payment Coupons, select the customer that you want to print for and then the coupon that you want to use! It’s that simple!
Did you know that every time you enter a name in Frazer, complete a sale, take a payment and more, the Office of Foreign Assets Control’s Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons list is checked. This is often referred to as the “bad guy list”. If a name is entered into Frazer that is on that list, you will see the following warning pop-up before you can continue.
And not only that, but we keep a record of every name that you check with the dates and stock numbers. You can choose to print that report as well.

Our programmers have recently added uploads to AutoConX, AutoBase.com and Monster Lot. The setup is located under Miscellaneous, 1 – System Options and then click on tab 5 – Vehicle Options. Once you are ready to do the upload, click on Vehicles and then 8 – Vehicle Uploads.
The VIN has been added to the Repossession Listing report. This report is located under Reports, 3 – Customer Reporting and then B – Repossession Listing.
The List of Vehicles Purchased Report options now has the ability to exclude vehicles acquired by way of repossession or by way of a trade-in. To get to this report, click on Reports, then 1 – Vehicle Inventory Reports and then 3 – List of Vehicles Purchased.
Here at Frazer we are constantly reviewing our software and enhancing it. If you have not updated in a couple months, it is not a bad idea to do so. There are a few ways that you can update your system. First we have the Updates feature at the top right of your software, second there is frazerupdate.com, or third, if you are not connected to the internet, you can call for a CD to be mailed.
Did you ever want to limit your employees abilities within the software or have a login for everyone just for a little extra security? Click on Miscellaneous, and then 3 – Password System. There you have a few options to explore. Call us for details!
Frazer now has the ability to print envelopes for a Vendor or Customer! Print an envelope from the Vendor default screen or after you print a check. For a Customer, visit Customer Activity and select a specific customer and print an envelope for John Doe.
We have added a button in the Customer Activity screen and the Changing Vehicle screen to print the General Ledger transactions for that customer or that vehicle. This button is located at the top of each screen!
Frazer has the ability to log on to your computer! We can highlight things and point you in the right direction! Don’t hesitate to call for help!
Have you ever wanted to print letters for your customers and have data pulled from Frazer? Well, you can!! Click on Customers and then 2 – Letters and Labels. There you can print letters, create letters or review instructions for help on creating letters. We have included some templates to get you started!

The Frazer software has a great Help Manual available. Click on Help at the top of your software and select 1 – Help Manual from the drop-down menu.
Take advantage of the ability to do daily online backups and Frazer will store your data for you! The Online Backup feature is located at the top of your software.
We all are concerned with our credit rating these days! Frazer has the ability to pull your potential customer’s credit. Just sign up with Credco! To do so, go to Miscellaneous, 1 – System Options, 2 – Sales Options 2 and click on the button labeled Set-up to pull Credit Reports. Want to report the credit of your current customers? Click on Customers and then 5 – Report to Credit Bureau.
Our Texas Dealers have been asking Frazer Computing to add the Dealer’s Motor Vehicle Inventory Declaration for some time. Well folks, it is here at last! Update to the latest version and Click on Reports, 2 – Sales Reporting and Y – Yearly Motor Vehicle Inventory Declaration to print this new report.

Do you have your own website or do you upload your current inventory to other sites regularly? If so, Frazer provides the ability to upload your inventory directly from our program to your dealership’s site or to others such as Cars.com, AutoTrader.com, CarsForSale.com and more! Go to Miscellaneous – 1. System Options – 5. Vehicle Options in the main menu to see a list of available options. If you upload to a site not shown, let us know!
Thinking about switching to Frazer and wondering how you can transfer your existing customer data? Use Frazer’s Pre-Existing Customer feature to enter your customer’s sale information and current balances without entering the sale from scratch. Enter your bills and conveniently print checks all within the Frazer program! The checks are in QuickBooks format and available from a variety of companies. Have a look in the accounting portion of the program or contact us for more information.

Printing Made Easy
You can print many things from Frazer, from your contracts and legal forms, to sales reports and accounting sheets, payment coupons and receipts. These items don’t necessarily need to go to the same printer every time. In Frazer’s system options, you have the opportunity to specify different printers for many of the various types of printouts that you may need. Dot-matrix for your contracts? No problem. Dedicated receipt printer? We can do that, too.
