Good paying customers often request that you report them to the credit bureau, to help improve their credit score. If you would like to report your customers to the credit bureau, the process in Frazer is quick and painless. The credit status code for each customer is automatically assigned based on their account activity. You must have an account with a credit bureau, who will give you a program ID. Just enter that ID into Frazer’s credit reporting screen, and click “Go”! Take the file that Frazer creates and send it out, and you are finished!

The updated Frazer program includes the new Risk-Based Pricing notice. For those of you wanting to pull credit scores, read on! You would give this notice to your customer (before they sign their contract) if the APR you are offering them is not the best possible rate you offer, based on the customer’s credit score. This is different from the Credit Score Disclosure (aka Exception Notice), that is generally provided with the credit report. This notice is necessary only if you are basing the APR at least partly on credit scores.

Some buy here pay here dealers will ask: why should I pull a credit report? When you sell an in-house financed deal, you are adding that piece to your existing portfolio as a whole. You are the one taking the risk. So ask yourself- would you jump out of a plane with a parachute you hadn’t checked out? When Kenneth Shilson, CPA and President of Subprime Analytics, spoke at the 2007 NIADA Convention, he stressed the importance of pulling credit reports because they help you anticipate bankruptcies and identify key credit history changes. He also pointed out that both credit scores and the number of items in collections have a direct correlation to your loss rate. The Frazer system partners with Credco to help you pull that valuable information, and save it for quick reference. If you are interested in pulling credit reports, contact us today for more information on setup. After all, you only get a smooth landing with a good parachute!
